Issue #3 (Chapter 3 in the Red Book)
- Disturbing cover, that.
- Page 1 -- Who is Thane?
- Page 2/3 -- The other imps shown have goat legs, but Varkias has
human-type legs. Like the fairies.
- Page 4 -- What is the significance of Rubel forgetting Quinton's
warning about bringing Varkias into town?
- Page 5 -- Soracia, keeping an eye on the situation, in the upper
right
- Page 6 -- "You were born in the forest . . . ? Are you a
thief?". Interesting leap of logic. Is that the usual
birthplace of thieves?
- Page 8 -- Is Rubel's effect on the crowd natural charisma, a part of
being a thief, or possibly Soracia's doing?
- Page 11 -- Rubel says there are lots of reasons to leave Varkias
behind, but can't articulate any of them.
- Page 11 -- Ms. Shadow Lady, bottom rightmost panel, hanging out on a
rooftop again.
- Page 12 -- Perhaps Soracia is the reason Varkias gets left behind.
Every time Rubel has been hurt, or in serious danger as of this writing
(Dec. 2, 1997), he has been separated from Varkias.
- Page 15 -- Rubel doesn't pick the lock. Time constraints, lack of
tools, or something else?
- Page 15 -- the plant leaves just inside the door seem to be connected
with Soracia's magic. See #1 when she appears, and #10 when Rubel goes to
the dream garden.
- Page 16 -- Probably one of Soracia's black swords. It looks like part
of the dream from #2 is coming true.
- Page 17 -- Is it the captain who fires the shot?
- Page 18 -- the first in a series of close escapes for our hero
- Page 19 -- What sort of gun is the guardsman carrying?
- Letter's Page(s) -- The contraption on the cover of #1 is inspired by
an artist named Heath Robinson.
